Moscow City is a modern business center located on Presnenskaya Embankment. Incredibly beautiful skyscrapers make the complex recognizable like no other district of the capital. The Moscow City business center combines offices of medium and large businesses, residential apartments, hotels, stores, restaurants and other establishments.
The project was developed back in 1991, but work on site improvement and construction of high-rise buildings on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment began only in 1998, and there are still plans to build several more high-rise buildings, and our list will certainly be replenished next year.
How many towers are there in Moscow City?

Federation Tower
Construction of the complex, consisting of two towers East and West, began in 2003 and all construction work was completed by 2017. Because of its height of 373 meters, the West Tower was named Europe’s tallest building between 2014 and 2017. Another record of this complex, which is also in the Guinness Book of World Records, was the amount of concrete pumped into the base of the towers.
Mercury City Tower
Mercury City Tower, 340 meters high, was built between 2009 and 2013. It immediately stands out with its unusual orange-gold color and shape with beveled facades on different levels. The building has a total of 75 aboveground floors and another 5 underground floors.
«OKO» Tower
The Oko complex consists of two towers: the North Tower (254 meters) and the South Tower (354 meters). It was built in five years, with all work completed by 2016. The name “eye” is formed from the first letters of the phrase “United by Crystal Foundations”. Today, both towers are record-breakers: the “South” has the best artificial track and the best restaurants on the European continent. In addition, OKO has the largest conference hall in the capital.
Eurasia Tower
The Eurasia skyscraper was under construction between 2007 and 2014. It has 72 floors above ground and 5 floors below ground. The total height of the tower is 309 meters. The skyscraper is equipped with the latest smart home system, which ensures high reliability of all its engineering systems.
The City of Capitals complex
“City of Capitals” consists of 275-meter skyscraper Moscow (73 floors) and 235-meter skyscraper ‘St. Petersburg’. Both buildings are connected by a common 18-level stylobate. In 2012, the complex took first place in the list of the best skyscrapers in Europe, compiled by members of the SkycreaperCity forum.
Empire Tower
“Empire” was built in 2006-2011. The height of the 60-storey skyscraper is 239 meters. The interesting appearance of the main facade allows the building to be included in the list of the most beautiful and unique skyscrapers in Moscow City.
“Waterfront Tower”
“Bashnya na Naberezhnaya” includes three buildings: A, B and C, the height of which is 85, 127 and 268 meters respectively. The building is designed in a modern high-tech architectural style. The arrangement and appearance of the towers resemble cams around the rotor of a complex mechanism, and when you look at them from a certain angle, they create the illusion of a “flat house”. Since a similar phenomenon can be observed in the houses located along Presnensky Val and Taganskaya Street.
Evolution Tower
The construction of the Evolution Tower lasted from 2011 to 2015. Its height is 255 meters (53 floors). The spiral body seems to screw into the sky, it is a real decoration of the Moscow-City International Exhibition Center. The tower’s architect Tony Kettle adapted an unusual design idea by Auguste Rodin, inspired by the latter’s sculptural composition “The Kiss”.
The IQ-quarter complex
The IQ Quarter complex consists of 3 towers and is simply called 1, 2 and 3. Their height is 85, 135 and 169 meters respectively. The construction lasted from 2010 to 2016.
North Tower
The North Tower is a building complex consisting of a 27-story, 108-meter skyscraper, an adjacent “low-rise” building and an atrium with glass vaulted ceilings. The atrium is still the highest of its kind in Europe. Externally, the whole complex resembles an ocean liner, thus creating a kind of “small flotilla” together with the house at 2 Tulskaya Street, which Muscovites call a “house-ship”.
“Tower 2000”
It is the first skyscraper of Moscow City, built in 2001. It is also the only local skyscraper standing on the right bank of the Moskva River and is connected to the complex by the Bagration Bridge. It has a height of 104 meters and 34 floors. Its architect was the aforementioned Boris Ivanovich Tor, the “father” of the idea to erect the Moscow International Business Center.

The tallest tower of Moscow City
Federation East Tower is part of the Federation Complex, which consists of two towers: East and West. Federation East reaches a height of 374 meters (including the spire), making it not only the tallest tower in Moscow City, but also one of the tallest buildings in Europe.
The tower was completed in 2016 and is a multifunctional complex with office space, apartments, an observation deck and a restaurant on the upper floors.
The skyscraper stands out not only for its height, but also for its unique architecture and the use of the latest technologies in the construction and operation of the tower. The high-rise has become an important symbol of the Moscow City business center and one of the main attractions of Moscow, attracting the attention of both Muscovites and tourists.
Construction in the Moscow City MIBC continues. The Neva Towers complex will soon be commissioned, and plans are underway to build the tallest residential building in Europe, so the list of Moscow City towers is still to be added to.
